The national interbank processing center, Humo, now falls under the jurisdiction of the State Assets Management Agency (SAMA). This change is outlined in the decree issued by the President of Uzbekistan on November 30, which aims to enhance consumer protection for digital products and combat digital crimes. The resolution notes that recently there has been an increase in cases of theft and fraud using bank cards. This indicates insufficient digital financial literacy of the population, inadequate qualifications of law enforcement officers, as well as the lack of modern crime prevention systems in banks, payment organizations and payment system operators (Humo, Uzcard and Qulay Pul).
